What is he thinking of, what
is he dreaming? Black city shoes,
shirt neat as a pin, trousers with their crease,
remembering from time to time
his komboloi he runs the beads along
then, chin and hand again
half shuts his eyes, sets off once more
in what i'd call his reverie
outside the taverna, the bottle
of mineral water scarcely broached.
